Title
Krishna And Balarama Take The Cows To The Pastures
Artist
Dominique Amendola
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Krishna and Balaram leave Vrindavan village for the pasturing grounds in the morning, where they tend the calves with their friends. The gopis (damsels of Vraja) see Krishna walking on the path and think that His soft lotus feet are being pierced by broken chips of stone. They cry at home thinking of Him constantly and how He will come back only at dusk. The cows are taken to the pastures by the men, while the children tend the calves. This is an original oil on canvas. The style is classical realism. The story comes from the classic literature of India, the Srimad Bhagavatam.
