Artist's Description
This oil painting represents a typical street scene in South India, with pedestrians, cars, fruit vendors, rickshaws, motorcycles, bicycles, the heat, the sun. India has a growing economy and is a very dynamic country. this was commissioned by a gallery in Bangalore India.
The scene is serene despite the action. One of the reasons is that everyone is so patient. There are no road rages, insults exchanges from one driver to the next, or even pedestrians to drivers. It is the good nature and composure of this place and the people there, that capture my attention. I am planning to go back one day.
The style is contemporary impressionism, the technique is worked both with a brush and a palette knife.
This art piece is one of my best-selling canvas prints. I have produced a series of Indian street scenes.

"Since many of us have a very busy and often stressful life, it is important for me to bring the calming and rejuvenating effect of spiritual paintings into people's lives through my artwork." Dominique Amendola was born in Paris, France. She spent most of her life living in the United States, and India. She has been making a living as a professional artist since 1985. She expressed her first serious interest in art when she was four years old. When she was 17 years old, she studied for 2 years at Atelier Beaudry, in Paris France. Then she studied for 4 years at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs De Paris, France.
