Description
This painting is the first version of Mother Yashoda and baby Krishna, which was sold long ago. It is a pretty famous piece in its genre, especially in India. It got published many times in books, art books, calendars, and even on music cassettes. The story goes this way: Mother Yashoda found baby Krishna with the broken pots, distributing yogurt to the monkeys. She is chasing him with a stick and trying to catch him. This will prove difficult since He is the Supreme Bhagavan, but she'll succeed because her love for Him is so great...
Yashoda will bind Krishna with the ropes of love and He will be called Damodara. He is her pride and joy. Her love for this child has no equal in this world, His childhood pastimes are wonderful and praised by great poets.
