Artist's Description

In the traditional lore of old India Krishna is a little cowherd boy with many friends who wanders the forest of Vrindavan tending his cows from sunrise to sunset. This is a huge painting, painted in India for a Hindu ashram. If you observe this artwork, you will see that Krishna in the center, is being playfully fanned by another boy with his cloth, and another boy (Balarama) is feeding him while yet another boy (Madhu Mangal) is stealing a sweet from his plate. The plates are simple banana leaves, and the boys are picnicking near a river or pond full of lotuses.

This is a commissioned painting for an Indian monastery.

"Since many of us have a very busy and often stressful life, it is important for me to bring the calming and rejuvenating effect of spiritual paintings into people's lives through my artwork." Dominique Amendola was born in Paris, France. She spent most of her life living in the United States, and India. She has been making a living as a professional artist since 1985. She expressed her first serious interest in art when she was four years old. When she was 17 years old, she studied for 2 years at Atelier Beaudry, in Paris France. Then she studied for 4 years at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs De Paris, France. She took courses that taught her traditional fine art skills, including an in-depth study of the masters:...
