This painting, oil on linen canvas, depicts a cafe scene in Paris. Les Deux Magots is one of the most famous cafes located in the quarters of Saint-Germain-Des-Pres. It once had a reputation as the rendezvous of the literary and intellectual life of the city. It is now a popular tourist destination.
There is a lot happening in this scene: 3 couples are prominent, as well as the waiter and a woman cutting a piece of cake with a fork. From left to right, there is an old guy reading the newspaper with a bored blond. A woman with glasses is cutting a piece of cake, also reading the paper. The waiter is taking another couple's order with a guy squinting and deciding what he wants to order. There is the couple on the right with the talkative guy in red, while his girlfriend is checking her phone. In the background various people are doing what we all do in a cafe, trying to enjoy a drink or something and soaking in the atmos...

"Since many of us have a very busy and often stressful life, it is important for me to bring the calming and rejuvenating effect of spiritual paintings into people's lives through my artwork." Dominique Amendola was born in Paris, France. She spent most of her life living in the United States, and India. She has been making a living as a professional artist since 1985. She expressed her first serious interest in art when she was four years old. When she was 17 years old, she studied for 2 years at Atelier Beaudry, in Paris France. Then she studied for 4 years at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs De Paris, France. She took courses that taught her traditional fine art skills, including an in-depth study of the masters:...
